TRUMANN – Diane Qualls Holley, 66, of Trumann passed away peacefully at home Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022.
She was born to the late W.E. “Dub” Qualls and Dorcy Martin Qualls.
She married Earl Holley Jr. and they shared 49 years together.
Together they raised three daughters, Michelle (Jeff) Sullivan of Jonesboro, Angela (Eric) Lowery of Trumann and Mary (Brandon Dooley) Clanton of Austin.
Diane held many roles in her life: wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter and sister. The role she will be remembered for the most is mother.
She loved her daughters and found much joy with her grandchildren prior to her illness. While healthy, she enjoyed attending church, shopping, garage sales, music, dancing and reading.
Diane was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school.
She instilled the love of God in her children with nighttime stories from the Bible; relentlessly reminding each one that God loves you with his grace; and of course, the Golden Rule: treat others as you would want to be treated.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her brother-in-law and sister, James and Barbara Brewer, niece, Tosha Stricklin, and nephew, Roger Qualls Jr.
Survivors include her husband and children, sister, Bernice (Darrel) Wiley, and brothers, Roger Qualls and Robert Qualls.
Surviving grandchildren include Paige (Cory) Bellinger, Matthew (Amber) Sullivan, Jackson (Hannah) Lowery, Connor Lowery, Madisson Clanton, Mailey Clanton and Hailey Dooley, as well as three great-grandchildren.
Surviving nephews and nieces include Anthony (Janice) Brewer, Kenny (Michelle) Brewer, Lisa (Shawn) Hall, Christy Qualls, Bobby Qualls, John Davis, Billy Holt, Rhonda Holt, Scott Qualls, April Qualls and Tonya Qualls, as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
Diane has requested a simple funeral, much the way she lived.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye with a private ceremony of family and friends. Dayl Hogan will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jackson Lowery, Connor Lowery and Matthew Sullivan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Lowery, Brandon Dooley and Jeff Sullivan.
For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis 38105-9959.
